Public Relations Account Executive – Consumer PR 

LOCATION:  The Consumer Lifestyle and Sports Public Relations practice in the NY, NY office of FINN Partners has an exciting job opening for a Public Relations Account Executive.  We seek qualified current NYC metropolitan area residents for this direct hire, full-time role, where you will have a hybrid schedule working both from home and in office (in office is on an as needed basis which is typically 3 days per week).  Please upload your resume in PDF format only.  

This Public Relations Account Executive role requires 3 years of prior progressive PR work experience with consumer client public relations.  The CLS PR Practice at FINN Partners specializes in public relations strategies, media relations, influencer and affiliate programs, for clients in sectors: consumer lifestyle, outdoor brands and recreation, consumer packaged goods, retail, wellness, and sports.  We seek qualified applicants who have: the hunger, hustle and enthusiasm to learn, a passion for writing, experience in developing media relationships, appetite to infuse AI and modern media techniques into the everyday, and experience administering PR client accounts.  You should be deeply curious about our clients’ businesses and be focused on delivering measurable results.  We expect a lot because we believe in building a team that’s ready to shape what’s next.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of integrated public relations campaigns and programs that exceed client goals and expectations.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication; display your ability to suggest, direct, counsel, and offer problem-solving solutions.
  • Utilize excellent contacts to secure consistent media coverage across a wide range of consumer, outdoor, lifestyle, news, and business publications.
  • Deliver outstanding earned media results daily.
  • Expand and build new, meaningful media relationships in key publications across print, online, TV, social, radio, podcasts and more.
  • Support internal PR teams and mentor junior employees for professional growth; provide proper feedback and guidance; be creative and achieve excellent results.
  • Understand and utilize social media best practices and trends.
  • Participate in the development of communication media strategies and plans.
  • Review and develop press materials, including but not limited to press releases, media advisories, key messages, Q&As and executive remarks.
  • Infuse innovative digital and social strategies into client programs.
  • Support department senior leadership in the research and pitch creation for new business presentations; assist in the development of RFPs that showcase our unique capabilities and proven results.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends across media in the outdoor, wellness, and consumer lifestyle industries, to strengthen client programming.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of prior progressive Consumer PR work history.
  • Bachelor's degree (required).
  • Proven history of achieving PR team significant results.
  • Exceptional media relationships with top-tier national and trade outlets; proven history of generating significant media placements.
  • Ability to develop and execute both media relations and marketing communications programs successfully.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills (familiar with AP style).
  • Strong communications skills, project management capabilities, and proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines.
  • Effectively works as part of a team, shares information freely, and supports the common goals of the group.  A true team player.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, hardworking, flexible, and thorough.

Anticipated Salary: $64k to $67k. Commensurate with experience and depending upon workplace.
