JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Generalist & Recruiter is responsible for developing and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified and capable talent for our growing operations in China. They will also handle some day-to-day human resources (HR) duties for our Shanghai and Beijing locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruiting
  • Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Create job postings and manage the advertisement processes.
  • Actively research, identify, and manage relationships with effective job posting platforms and recruitment channels within China.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders and managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Screen applications and select qualified candidates.
  • Schedule interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications, if required.
  • Complete personal ID verifications and authentications for hiring platforms as required.
  • Consistently perform active outreach to potential candidates to build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified talent for future job openings. Draft employment contracts for new hires; share with the appropriate HR lead for final review and signature.
  • Attend and participate in job fairs and recruiting events, as requested and approved.
     
General HR
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee engagement programs.
  • Implement offboarding for exiting employees.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to: compensation, benefits and leave, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, and training and development.
  • Administer statutory requirements, including but not limited to, local social security, housing fund, and individual income tax processes.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors; refer complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR leaders.
  • As requested, attend employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Work with appropriate HR leaders to ensure our China operations maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Regularly review policies, procedures and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law pertinent to China.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations in China
  • Strong familiarity with major China-based recruiting platforms and sourcing tools (e.g., Liepin, Zhaopin, Boss Zhipin).
  • Interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as virtual meeting and collaboration software (e.g. Zoom, Teams)
  • Ability to
    • prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
    • act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
    • quickly learn and proficiently work in the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
    • travel, as requested, between our Shanghai and Beijing offices
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Two to four years of human resources management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
